Rebel Dane is now a clear and odds-on $1.55 favourite in 2016 Missile Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Big Money ($3.40) and Mount Nebo ($10).

Will Rebel Dane continue his impressive first-up record in the depleted 2016 Missile Stakes, or will one of his rivals score a big early spring upset?

1st

Rebel Dane ($1.55)

Rebel Dane’s first-up record speaks for itself, the seven-year-old relishes wet conditions and should simply be too classy for his rivals in the Missile Stakes. Resuming this year for third in the Group 2 Australia Stakes (1200m), the California Dane entire progressed to fifth in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) and fourth in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m). While failing to figure in his next two starts, Rebel Dane returned to the paddock after running fourth in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) on April 16th and has trialled well in the lead-up to his return in the Missile Stakes.

2nd

Tycoon Tara ($11)

Tycoon Tara will have her first start for Peter & Paul Snowden in the Missile Stakes, and is over the Missile Stakes odds at her current $11 follow scratchings. A multiple stakes winner through her campaigns for trainer Simon Wilde, the Written Tycoon mare host posted a career total of six wins and four minors through only twenty-two appearances, for nearly $350,000 in prize money. Tycoon Tara has trialled well in the lead-up to her return in the Missile Stakes and will be partnered by notable hoop Blake Shinn.

3rd

Big Money ($3.40)

Big Money was unlucky not to return to winning form last start and his class is sure to count for a lot in the small Missile Stakes field on Saturday. Winner of the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) in February, the Choisir gelding ran a commendable sixth in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) in May 21st, and while failing to make anything of an impact when twelfth in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m), ran an agonizingly-close second in the Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m) last time out on July 13th.
