Too Good To Refuse is the Races.com.au tip to win Brisbane’s George Moore Stakes 2016 at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday. Photo: Daniel Costello.
Due to run as Eagle Farm Race 8 at 4:48pm (local time) on Saturday, this seasonâs $200,000 Group 3 George Moore Stakes (1200m) field features a quality line-up of 11 sprinters.
Heading the George Moore Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au at $3.10 is the rails-drawn Too Good To Refuse.
Last seen winning the Listed Keith Noud Quality at the track and distance, Desleigh Forsterâs four-year-old is a noted backmarker who will be off the pace once again with Jim Byrne retaining the ride.
Also at singles in George Moore Stakes betting are the Tony Gollan-trained Most Important ($5) drawn the other end of the field in 11, returning Tattersallâs Tiara winning mare Miss Cover Girl ($8) and Big Money ($8.50) giving the weight away with 59.5kg first-up.
So can the favourite salute for the punters in Brisbane on Saturday in the Group 3 or does the value lie further down the markets in the likes of the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Sydney raider Thatâs A Good Idea ($11) or Kelso Woodâs WJ Healy winner at the track / distance in winter Into The Red ($11)?

#8 Too Good To Refuse ($3.10)
The favourite really is too good to refuse in betting based on how easy he did it in the Keith Noud for the nearly two length win here a fortnight back. Loves the roomy Eagle Farm course that gives him room to run on late from the back. Heâll be off the pace again even though he drew the rails, Byrne knows him well enough now and hell only improve third-up. Gets in on the 54kg minimum once more and should have their measure in the closing stages.
2nd
#4 Miss Cover Girl ($8)
Looking for a big first-up run from this classy Kelly Schweida-trained Monashee Mountain mare, the five-year-old drawn a treat in barrier two. She is a first-up flyer (6-3-1-2) and has never finished out of the money in a resuming run. She won at the track over 1400m in the Group 1 Tattersallâs Tiara in the winter after a brave fourth when only just over a half-length off the winner in the Group 2 QTC Cup (1300m). Sheâs trialled well twice leading up to this including a Deagon win over Steel Zip by 2.3 lengths on November 29. Lots of boxes ticked. Right track, right draw, right distance for a first-up run and only needs to handle the kilos (57kg).
3rd
#2 Thatâs A Good Idea ($11)
The Snowdenâs scratched this Flying Spur seven-year-old from a Sydney Black Type on Saturday in favour of this and weâre guessing itâs for a reason. He was last seen running fourth over the distance at Rosehill on November 12 carting big kilos (62kg). Heâs got plenty of winning sprint form and drops to 58kg here. Looks overs and can finish in the money.
